A memorial service for Ona Mae Benfiel Lamb, 89, of Cornelia, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Rev. Jay Hughes officiating.

Ms. Lamb died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Rockdale Healthcare Center in Conyers. Ms. Lamb’s wishes were that her body be donated to the Emory School of Medicine.

Born Dec. 29, 1923, in Alto, she was the daughter of the late Jobe and Bertha Carson Benfiel.

She was a homemaker and formerly a dental assistant. Ms. Lamb was a member of Cornelia United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Marshall Ivey of Conyers; grandchildren and their spouses, Brian and Glynis Ivey of Covington, and Kerry and Shane Klima of Atlanta; great-grandchildren, Jared and Justin Ivey of Oxford; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the service hour on Saturday.
