Funeral services for Robert Leroy “Bob” Rhyne, 90, of Clarkesville, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at Hillside Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Stowe officiating. Burial followed the service in Hillside Gardens Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Georgia Military Honors Funeral Team.

Mr. Rhyne died Tuesday, March 5, 2013.

Born Jan. 13, 1923, he was the son of the late Walter and Vivian Hendricks Rhyne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Johnny O’Dell, and brother, David “Chuck” Rhyne.

Mr. Rhyne was a United States Army veteran, having served during World War II. He worked with the Jacksonville Electric Authority and he was a chief electrical inspector for the City of Coral Gabels, Fla. Mr. Rhyne was a member of the Electrical Inspectors Association. He was also a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jeri Simpson Rhyne of Clarkesville; daughter, Jeannie O’Dell of Lawrenceville; son, Mark Rhyne and wife Darlene of Duluth; granddaughter, Vanessa; and grandsons, Jesse, Jared, James and Jordyn.
