Funeral services for James Manuel Carson, 93, of Clayton, were held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 6, at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Dr. Frank Cox officiating. Burial followed the service in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Carson died May 2, 2013, at Marieta’s Mission Personal Care Home in Lawrenceville.

Born July 8, 1919, in Clarkesville, he was the son of the late Manuel and Alice Jones Carson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Entrekin Carson, and son, Tommie Ray Carson.

Mr. Carson was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and a retired inspector for Lockheed.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy “Kit” and Jenny Carson of Merritt Island, Fla., Johnny and Faye Carson of Lilburn, Bill and Wanda Carson of Lawrenceville, and Ricky and Alcira Carson of Dacula; as well as eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
