Funeral services for Ruby Garner Tench, 66, of Clarkesville, are scheduled for 11 a.m. today, May 15, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, with the Rev. Larry Ryals and Mike Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Tench died Sunday, May 12, 2013, at her residence.

Born Oct. 11, 1946, in Habersham County, she was the daughter of the late Rufus and Isabelle Eller Garner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jeanette Burson, and her brothers, Marvin Garner and Allen Garner.

Mrs. Tench was a pharmacy tech at Ingles Pharmacy and Jennings Pharmacy. She was a volunteer for Special Olympics from 1993 to 1995. Mrs. Tench was a member of Harvest Christian Church.

Survivors include her loving husband of 49 years, Benny Tench of Clarkesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Steve Mann of Washington, and Bonnie and Scott Sanders of Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Jeanette Tench of Clarkesville; son, Randy Tench of Clarkesville; sister, Linda McAvoy of Washington; brothers, Earnest Garner of Cornelia, and Roy Garner of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandchildren, Andie Bridges, Caitlin Mann, Jared Tench, Amber Tench, Cole Tench, and Dustin Sanders; and one great-grandchild, Baylie Bridges.
