Funeral services for Albert Denny, 66, of Alto, were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May, 26, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, with the Rev. David Turner and Dr. Eric Spivey officiating. Burial followed in Yonah Memorial Gardens with the United States Air Force presenting military honors.

Mr. Denny died Thursday, May 23, 2013, of a sudden illness at his residence.

He was born Nov. 4, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Carol Sampson Pokorny and Robert Pokorny.

He attended Harmony Baptist Church. Mr. Denny was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving his country in Korea and the Philippines. He was employed with Southeastern Freight Line.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Denny of Alto; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and David Ivester of Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Tina Denny of Clermont; son, Brian Denny of Arcade; sister, Linda Luce of Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Pamela Parrish and Cleve of Tucson, Ariz.; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Cynthia Pokorny of Tucson, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
