A memorial service for Mike Walker, 66, of Alto, was held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 10, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Rev. Garry Garrison officiating. Full military honors were provided.

Mr. Walker died Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Habersham Medical Center.

Born April 7, 1947, in Gainesville, he was the son of the late Breman and Daisy Ivie Walker. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ivie Walker.

Mike was a graduate of North Georgia College. He was a United States Army veteran, having proudly served in Vietnam, where he received two Purple Hearts. Mike was a business owner of H&W Associates. He was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Upper Chattahoochee Cycling Club and Habersham Flyers. Mike was a private aircraft pilot and an avid cyclist.

Survivors include his wife, Selina Walker of Alto; and sisters, Winnona Garrison of Rome, and Glyness Meeks of Lillington, N.C.
