A memorial service for Lyn Gunter, 63, of Clarkesville, formerly of Lawrenceville, was held Monday, July 29, in the Lawrenceville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home, with Dr. Harold Lawrence officiating.

Mrs. Gunter died Friday, July 26, 2013.

Mrs. Gunter graduated from North Gwinnett High School in 1967, and worked as a bank teller for many years. Mrs. Gunter and her husband raised their four children in Lawrenceville before retiring to Clarkesville. She was an active member in the choir at Prospect United Methodist Church, Lawrenceville, before moving her membership to Clarkesville Baptist Church.

Lyn enjoyed pitching in the church softball league, loved shopping for antiques, and participating in local theater performances in Clarkesville.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Johnson; and brother, Bob Johnson.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Joe Gunter of Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Marty English of Tennessee; son, Rob Gunter of Clarkesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Eve and Todd Burton of Dacula, Rachel and Collin Dougherty of Acworth; mother, Grace Johnson Bullock of Snellville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Bill Person of Ohio, Gay and Rich Boassy of Loganville; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
