Funeral services for James Milton Crow, 65, of Mt. Airy, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Sept. 25, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, with Pastor Scott Dent and the Rev. Julia Rautenburg officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Bethel Church of God.

Mr. Crow died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at his residence following a sudden illness.

Born on Oct. 28, 1947, in Clarkesville, he was the son of the late Edgar N. Sr. and Gladys Waldrup Crow. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Cornelia and attended Mt. Bethel Church of God. Mr. Crow was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Vietnam conflict. He also was a retired supervisor from Mt. Vernon Mills, having 38 years of loyal and dedicated service.

Survivors include his wife, Judy A. Crow of Mt. Airy; daughter, Michelle Deer of Mt. Airy; sisters, Sarah Gardner of Mt. Airy, Dorothy Lewis of Salem, S.C., Shelia Crow of Cleveland; brother, Edgar N. Crow Jr. of Maysville; grandchildren, Stephanie Deer, James Deer and Emily Deer.
