Funeral services for Douglas Lee Wadzeck, 59, of Clarkesville, are scheduled for 1 p.m. today, Dec. 6, at the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home, Clayton, with pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating.

Mr. Wadzeck died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at Habersham Medical Center, Demorest.

Born April 4, 1954, in Walsenburg, Colo., he was the son of Shirley Manke Griffin and the late Lee Griffin and his adoptive father, Al Wadzeck.

He was a carpenter by trade and worked for the railroad; he also was a cowboy and worked rodeos. He attended Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Doug was preceded in death by a son, Travis.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Saunders Wadzeck of the home; mother, Shirley Manke Webster of Harrah, Okla.; two sons, Cody Wadzeck (Lisa) of Utah, Brian Poole of Clarkesville; two daughters, Shawna of Tinidad, Colo., and Tabitha of Cumming; two brothers, Jimmy Griffin and Brad Griffin of Nacogdoches, Texas; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Cremation will follow the service.
