No formal funeral services will be held for Tim T. Craven, 74, of Cornelia. The family received friends Jan. 26 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest.

Mr. Craven died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014.

Born Jan. 26, 1939, in Cornelia, he was the son of the late Herbert and Madge Terrell Craven.

He was a member of Cornelia United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Special Forces in Germany. Mr. Craven was a retired engineer with Standard Telephone Company with 37 years of service. He was a former Scout Master with Troop No. 24. Mr. Craven was a kind and humble man who cherished his family.

Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Dianne Ayers Craven of Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Greg Griffin of Cornelia; son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Tammy Craven of Mt. Airy; sister and brother-in-law, Nina and Grady Cook of Alto; sister, Anita Pitts of Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Kitty Craven of Cumming; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, whom he loved with all his heart, Taylor Wright, Whitney Wright, Parker Brown, Katie Brown, Jessie Craven, Cassidy Craven, Paisley Griffin and Brentley Craven.

Memorials may be made to Habersham County Wall of Honor for Veterans, P.O. Box 298, Demorest, GA 30535.
