Funeral services for Reeves William Daniel, 89, of Homer, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Rev. Shawn Bateman officiating. Burial followed in Harmony Baptist Church cemetery with military honors provided by The Georgia National Guard.

Mr. Daniel died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014.

Born Jan. 5, 1925, in Clarkesville, he was the son of the late John Columbus and Essie Christine McNabb Daniel. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lola Coffey Daniel; brothers, Virgil Daniel and Billy Daniel; and sisters, Latrell Daniel and Gwyndolee Braswell.

Mr. Daniel was a veteran of the United States Army, Air Force and served in World War II. He was a member of the Banks County Republican Party and was a delegate to the Republican Convention in 1996.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Andrea and Randall Sims of Dacula, Virginia and Jamie Jarrell of Homer, Mary and Joe Strickland of Cornelia, Martha Daniel and Brett Slack of Norcross; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Catherine Daniel of Maysville, Richard and Angie Daniel of Lula, Don and Cynthia Daniel of Homer; son, Mark Daniel of Suwanee; brother, Bobby Daniel of Homer; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
