Mr. Davidson died Wednesday, March 26, 2014.
Born May 7, 1923, in Turnerville, he was a son of the late Dolph Columbus Davidson and Annie Cleo Dawkins Davidson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Anne Dockter; second wife, Hazel Geneva Crisp; brother, Thomas Wyatt Davidson; sisters, Annie Ruth Ivester and Dorothy “Dot” Hardman; and special longtime friend, Ethel Young.
Mr. Davidson attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, having served during World War II. He was previously employed as generating plant operator for Georgia Power Co., founder of Davidson Well Boring, as well as a poultry farmer. He was a member of the VFW, Georgia Power Ambassadors and the HUMP Pilots Association.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda Ann Davidson; daughter and son-in-law, Debra Whiting and Johnny of Turnerville; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Joyce Davidson, Eddie and Rita Davidson, all of Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Norma Davidson of Turnerville; grandchildren, Tracy Davidson Marsengill, Chris Davidson, Casey Whiting, Niki Whiting Smith, Wesly Davidson, Kelli Davidson, Chad Davidson and Cassidy Davidson; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and David Ivester, P.T.
