A celebration of life for Thomas Roame Campbell, 73, of Atlanta, formerly of Demorest, will be held in Atlanta on Labor Day weekend.

Mr. Campbell died Saturday, April 19, 2014, in Atlanta.

Born Sept. 3, 1940, at Fort Jay, Governors Island, N.Y., he was the son of the late Thomas and Margaret Campbell.

Following graduation from Athens High School in Athens, Ala., in 1958, Tom was an electrical engineering major at Georgia Tech. Later he became a partner in English-Swedish Spares in Alpharetta, the largest supplier of recycled English-Swedish auto parts in the Southeast. Tom was an avid reader, woodworker and model airplane enthusiast. He built several full scale replica World War I1 Fokker DR-1 airplanes that were installed in restaurants along the East Coast.

Tom is survived by two sons, Michael Campbell and wife Allison of Portland, Ore., and Stanley Campbell of Kittery, Maine; two granddaughters, Nora Fisher-Campbell and Oona

Fisher-Campbell of Portland, Ore.; brother, Jack Campbell and wife Malle of Madison, Ala.; sister, Doris Durham and husband Charles of Athens, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial gifts may be made to Visiting Nurse Health System/Hospice Atlanta, Athens-Limestone Public Library Foundation, or Atlanta Hospital Hospitality House.
