Funeral services for Beulah Mae Shook Shaw, 72, of Lula, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, July 5, at Alto Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond Payne and Pastor Mike Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in Baldwin City Cemetery.

Mrs. Shaw died Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

Born Feb. 6, 1942, in Rabun County, she was a daughter of the late Clifford McKinley Shook and Myrtle Marie Smith Shook. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband, William Merlin Shaw; and brothers, James Shook and Albert Shook.

Mrs. Shaw was a homemaker and kept children in her home for many years. She was affectionately known to her grandchildren and many others as “Mae Mae.” Mrs. Shaw was a member of Alto Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Ricky C. (LaDon) Shaw of Baldwin, Donald Eugene Shaw of Alto, Angela Victoria (Stacey) Hubbard of Homer, Keith (Brenda) Shaw of Clarkesville; sisters, Betty Roberts and Idalee Gragg, both of the Batesville Community, Clarkesville, Patricia Chastain of Mt. Airy; brothers, Jerry Shook of Alto, Lamar Shook of Demorest; grandchildren, Eric (Hannah) Shaw, Amber Shaw, all of Clarkesville, Asa Hubbard and Ean Hubbard, both of Homer; one very loved great-grandchild on the way; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
