Chase suspect had loaded gun, drugs
A convicted felon is back behind bars after leading authorities on a chase-turned-crash while in possession of a loaded gun and enough marijuana to speculate he was also a drug dealer.
Ronald Evansmoore Woodard, 40, of Cornelia, was arrested Saturday night, March 31, after he initially tried to flee a Habersham County Sherif’s Office (HCSO) deputy who attempted to pull the suspect over during a traffic stop.
HCSO Public Information Officer Lt. Matt Wurtz told The Northeast Georgian the deputy had initiated the stop as Woodard was turning onto York Drive from Camp Creek Road in Cornelia.
“The driver fled onto Lat Wilson Road turning back toward Demorest-Mt. Airy Highway,” he said.
