Zipping through White County
White County has the designation of being “Georgia's Outdoor Adventure Destination,” featuring fun on the Chattahoochee River and a rich assortment of nature trails.
But you can also experience outdoor fun without touching the ground at multiple zipline and adventure attractions in the community: Screaming Eagle Ziplines and Adventures at Unicoi, Nacoochee Adventures and Cool River Adventures.
Screaming Eagle Ziplines and Adventures at Unicoi lets visitors zip through the tree canopy of Unicoi State Park on a course of their choosing. Depending on how adventurous they’re feeling, guests can go on the Level F6, Level 1 or Level 2 tours.
Each tour features a different number of ziplines varying in length, along with sky bridges and aerial towers. The Level 2 tour will take zipliners over and around the lake at Unicoi. For more information, visit unicoizipline.com or call 706-878-4740.
If you want to mix-up your outdoor excursion, Nacoochee Adventures offers several zipline courses, along with a giant swing and challenge course. Thrill seekers trying out the giant swing are taken to new views of the Sautee Nacoochee Valley as they are lifted 50 feet into the air before dropping into a free fall.
There’s also the Yonah quest challenge course. Participants will have to make their way through this three-level rope course that features 27 different elements. For more information, visit nacoocheeadventures.com or call 706-878-9477.
While most might know “Cool River” for its river tubing, guests can also try their hand at ziplining, adventure courses and climbing walls at Cool River Adventures. Guests will be able to soar across the Chattahoochee River with this zipline tour.
You can choose from three adventure courses. Participants can also try their hand at rock climbing on the climbing wall. For more information, visit coolriveradventures.com or call 706-878-9471.
