A graveside service for Ann Meeks Tallent, 84, of Clarkesville, will be held Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 12:30 p.m. at Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. James Lyons officiating.

Mrs. Tallent, mother of Ronnie, Debi and Teri, follower of Jesus Christ, and one of the best cake bakers, cookie makers and jam and jelly makers, has gone to be with our Lord Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020. You could not walk into her home without having a bite of something and a to-go bag.

Born March 29, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Vera Leonard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Meeks; sisters, Beatrice Heath and Yvonne Smith; her husbands, Loyd Meeks, Roy Yarber and Loyd Tallent.

She is survived by her daughters, Debi (Jeff) Meeks Creel, and Teri (Larry) Meeks Lowe; daughter-in-love, Sandra Hill Meeks; as well as grandchildren, Heather (Tim) Meeks Taylor, Jonathan (Jenny) Lowe, Courtnye (Chad) Smith, Benjamin (Corinne) Lowe, Caroline C. Creel and Zachary Creel. She is also survived by great- grandchildren, Rivers Smith, Neely Smith, Turner Smith, Maddie Taylor, Abigail Taylor, Jasmine Akeman, Emme Lowe, Luke Lowe, Baylor Lowe, and Brock Lowe.

She had a warm smile and could make even a stranger feel like family. She will be missed by many friends and especially her family and church family.

She was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church and the Habersham County Senior Center. Ann had lived her whole life in Habersham County and when we would cross the line from another county to Habersham County, she would always say, "Smell the air of Habersham County."  She loved it. See you in heaven Mama.

Visitation will take place at Hillside Memorial Chapel Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 11 a.m. until noon.

An online guest book is available for the Tallent family at hillsidememorialchapel.com.

Arrangements are in the care of Hillside Memorial Chapel and Gardens, Clarkesville.
