Memorial services for J.D. Farmer, 90, of Cleveland, were held Saturday, Oct. 10, at Hillside Memorial Chapel. Private interment will be held at a later date in Hillside Gardens Cemetery.

  Mr. Farmer passed away Oct. 8, 2020, at his residence following an extended illness.

Born Dec. 25, 1929, in Clermont, and was the son of the late William Bud Farmer and the late Lillie White Farmer Standridge. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, William Farmer.  

Mr. Farmer was an Army National Guard veteran and was retired from General Motors with 25 years of loyal service. He was a Master Mason for over 60 years. He was a multi-talented man who enjoyed building furniture, woodworking and gardening.

Survivors include his wife of over 65 years, Cornelia Johnson Farmer of Cleveland; children, Tracie (David) Scott of Smoke Rise, Casey (Missy) Farmer of Snellville,  and Stacy (Kim) of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Margaret Scott, William Scott, Patrick Scott, Tyler Farmer and Ashley Farmer; sisters, Fannie Lou Head of Dahlonega, and Vera (Willis) Standridge Garrett of Gillsville; also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews and a special niece, Mary Ann Farmer.
