Even on a rainy day, inclement weather couldn’t stop those present for the city of Cornelia’s 30th annual Big Red Apple Festival from smiling and enjoying the afternoon. Hundreds still turned out for the event, which offered visitors food, fun and more. From left, Jean Turner, Flor Castillo, Bonnie Croy and Hazel Willliamson, members of Cornelia CH Church, roll out dough to make fresh fried apple pies. The pies were sold during the anniversary festival Saturday, Oct. 7, in downtown Cornelia. For more photos from the event, see Page 7A.
