KING, WILLIAMS ENTER HCHS BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME
The Habersham Central High School (HCHS) Basketball Hall of Fame (BHOF) welcomed two new members Friday night between the HCHS Lady Raiders’ and Raiders’ basketball games in Mt. Airy. Anthony King (Class of 1975) and Gail Williams (Class of 1979) were inducted as members of the 10th Hall of Fame Class for HCHS. King was a three-year starter for the Raiders from 1972-75 and was awarded Team MVP (Most Valuable Player) in his senior season. He is the only player to currently be in both the BHOF and the Habersham County Football Ring of Honor. He attended Clemson University and played football from 1975-79. King was drafted by the Cleveland Browns and played two years before injuries ended his career. Williams attended HCHS from 1976-79 and was coached by Richard DeMore. She played the position of center throughout her high school and college careers, playing at Tennessee Wesleyan College from 1979-81, and at West Georgia College from 1982-83.
