Funeral services for Wesley Darrell Kelly, 38, of Clarkesville, were held Sunday, Aug. 15, from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Mr. Darren Mitchell and the Rev. Larry Ryals officiating. Burial followed at Roselane Cemetery.
Mr. Kelly walked through the Pearly Gates on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021, at Habersham Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Born Jan. 15, 1983, in Buchanon, Virginia, he was the son of Darrell and Janice Carter Kelly. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Deedy and Edna Kelly, and Charles and Ethel Carter.
He was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church in Mt. Airy, and was a manager with Ingles Market. Wesley had worked at Ingles for 23 years and was currently at the Cleveland Ingles. He loved his job and he enjoyed fishing, the beach, and recently traveling out west.
Family members include his parents, Darrell and Janice Carter Kelly of Clarkesville; sister, Julie Kelly; niece, Zoie Kelly of Toccoa; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Kandace Carter; niece and nephew, Cassidy Carter and Brentley Carter; his girlfriend, Miranda Jones; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Michael Carter, Chris Carter, Adam Stewart, Darren Mitchell, Tripp Jamerson, Levi Price, Matt Head, and Matt Todd served as pallbearers.
Memorial donations may be made to the Gideon's or to the Church or Charity of choice.
