Funeral services for Betty Lou Williams Cragg, 88, of Alto, were held Sunday, Sept. 18, at Hillside Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Kenneth McEntire and the Rev. Anthony Shore officiated. Interment followed in the Enon Baptist Church cemetery.

Mrs. Cragg took her heavenly flight home to be with the Lord Friday, Sept. 16, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Born Jan. 22, 1934, in Mount Airy, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Lonie Nunnally Williams. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, DeFae “Fate” Cragg and her brothers, Leon Williams Jr. and Roy Williams.

Betty was a graduate of South Habersham High School, class of 1952. She worked for many years at Clarkesville Garment as well as Carwood Manufacturing in production. Betty was also a clerk for the City of Baldwin and retired after 10 years of dedicated service. In her spare time, she was an avid shopper, loved to travel, crochet, and enjoyed collecting costume jewelry. Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandma who loved her family tremendously. She was a faithful member of Line Baptist Church in Alto.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Michael Andrew “Smiley” and Jackie Cragg; daughter, June Marie Duncan; grandchildren, Kristie Harrison, Michael DeFae “Mikey” Cragg, and Danielle McVay; 10 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
