Funeral services for Carolyn McAllister Wade, 68, of Mt. Airy, were held Thursday, June 9, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart. The Rev. Garvis Kinsey officiated. Interment followed in the Fairfield Baptist Church cemetery.

Ms. Wade passed away Monday, June 6, 2022.

Born March 26, 1954, in Clarkesville, she was a daughter of the late James Marvin McAllister and Lonia Mae Pilgrim Gunter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Marilyn McAllister and Linda Lee.

Ms. Wade was a licensed practical nurse at Habersham Retreat where she enjoyed caring for her patients. She was very kind hearted and you could tell by the way her residents loved her dearly. She enjoyed her dogs, camping, visiting yard sales and thrift stores, riding, and going out to eat. Ms. Wade was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church. She was a loving daughter, mother, and grandmother who cherished spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed visiting her grandchildren every Sunday after church because they were the love of her life.

Survivors include her companion, Gary Terrell of Mt. Airy; daughters and sons-in-law, Jill and Chad Sanderlin of Gumlog, Courtney and Jonathan Nix of Demorest, and Rainen Wade and Tyler Cantrell of Toccoa; grandchildren, Cayden Chambers, Bryce Nix, Blakely Wade, and Kain Callahan; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Janice McAllister of Cornelia; sisters and brothers-in-law, Teresa and Gary Free of Clarkesville, Nikki and Keith Pritchard of Jackson, Tennessee, and Stacy and Ronnie Freeman of Clarkesville; and numerous nieces, nephews, other friends, and relatives.
