A graveside memorial service for Dan Douglas Minyard, 62, of Mount Airy, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at the Victory Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth McEntire and the Rev. Anthony Shore officiating.

Mr. Minyard went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 3, 2022.

Born Jan. 4, 1960, in Demorest, he was a son of the late Mary Ann Stewart Minyard and the late Douglas Minyard. In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, the Rev. Herman and Cora Lee Harris Minyard; maternal grandparents, LeeRoy and Myrtis Mae Thurmond Stewart; and brother, Jason Minyard.

Dan was a graduate of Habersham Central High School, class of 1978. He was a veteran, having served his country proudly in the United States Army. Dan worked as a maintenance technician for many years with Daniel's Tours, and in his spare time, enjoyed listening to southern gospel music. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Vicky Ash Minyard of Cleveland; stepmother, Anita Minyard of Noble, Oklahoma; sister and brother-in-law, Cammie and Bill Ramsey of Mt. Airy; sister, Kerry Minyard of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; nephew and spouse, Casey and Amy Ramsey of Rocky Face; niece and spouse, Brittany and Josh Elliott of Guyton; great-nephews, Austin Cooley of Rocky Face and  Garrett Elliott of Guyton; stepchildren, Joshua Allen of Clayton, Brandi Taylor of Cleveland, and April Webb of Tennessee; aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.

All family and friends will meet at the church cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Saturday.
