Funeral services for Emilio Rodriguez Hernandez, 76, of Cornelia, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Deacon Bill Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Hernandez passed away Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021.
Born June 8, 1944, in Mexico, Emilio was the son of the late Ignacio Rodriguez and Maria Luisa Hernandez Rodriguez. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Luis Rodriguez, David Rodriguez and Ignacio Rodriguez.
He retired from Kubota and attended St. Marks Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Maria Luisa Orozco Rodriguez of Cornelia; sons and daughters-in-law, Sergio Rodriguez (Donna), Martin Rodriguez (Yolanda), Santiago Rodriguez (Martha) all of Cornelia, Cesar Rodriguez (MiMi) of Gainesville; daughters, Patricia Rodriguez (Michael) of Mt. Airy and Karina Starks (James) of Cornelia; 22 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; brothers, Salvador Rodriguez and Antonio Rodriguez, both of Mexico; sister, Josefina Rodriguez of California.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, Jan. 15, from 6 until 8 p.m.
