Graveside services for Joe Frank Poole, 86, of Cornelia, were held Sunday, March 7, at Hillside Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Military Honors were provided by the Grant Reeves Honor Guard.
Mr. Poole passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021.
Born June 7, 1934, in Dahlonega, he was the son of the late Charles D. and Winnie Barrett Poole. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Charles Dunaway Poole Jr.; son-in-law, Russell Glen Banks; and grandson, Jacob Thomas Roach.
He was a graduate of Cumming High School and was a United States Army Veteran. Mr. Poole was retired from the Veterans Administration where he was chief of prosthetics and he was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Joan Amos Poole of Cornelia; daughter, Lynn Poole Banks of Lawrenceville; stepdaughter, Susan Boyd Watson (Mark) of Clarkesville; grandchildren, Justin Arthur Roach of Snellville, Jesse Wallace Roach of Lawrenceville, Misti Dawn Elrod of Hoschton, Amber Elizabeth Miller of Clarkesville, and Heather Alexanderia Frantz (Joel) of Canton; as well as 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
