A service celebrating the life of John Michael Odum, 69, of Clarkesville, will be held at a later date.
Mr. Odum passed away Oct. 1, 2021 following a period of declining health.
Born Feb. 17, 1952, in Athens, Mr. Odum was the son of the late Rev. Howard E. and Delores M. Odum. In addition to his parents, Mr. Odum was preceded in death by the love of his life, Freda Howington Odum; grandparents, John M. and Mary Anna H. Magness of Winder, and Elisha H. and Martha M. Odum of Bethlehem; brother-in- law, Harold W. Gunn; eight maternal uncles; four maternal aunts; and six paternal aunts.
Mr. Odum worked for Clarkesville Mill and Habersham Metal. He was a member of Nazareth United Methodist Church in Winder.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Michele and James Neighbours; son and daughter-in-law, John Mark and Miranda Odum; brother, Eddie Odum; sister, Dianne O. Gunn; sisters and brothers-in-law, Teresa O. and Lamar Dean, and Deborah O. and Lee Trotman; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, as well as several cousins.
