A Celebration of Life for Johnny Ray Holland, 85, of Gainesville, is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Dewberry Baptist Church, Gainesville.

  Mr. Holland passed away Monday, July 26, 2021.

  Born Sept. 17, 1935, he was the son of the late Robert Holland and Ella Whitmire Holland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Clifford Holland, Cecil Holland, and Ernest Holland, all of Gainesville; sisters, Myrtice Foster, and Ruby Smith, both of Gainesville, and Eula Savage of Florida; companion, Clezell Harwell of Lula; grandson, Jacky Ray Holland of Cleveland; mother of his children, Laquita Holland of Gainesville.

He was the owner and operator of Holland Produce, a Family-Owned business in Clarkesville. Mr. Holland was in the produce business for 69 years. His father and grandfather owned the business before him.

He was always smiling and had an infectious laugh. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his stories. He loved his family and friends.

He is survived by son,  Anthony (Anita) Holland of Cleveland; daughter, Sabrina (Donald) House of Gainesville; twin brother, Roy Holland of Fort Smith, Arkansas; grandchildren, Jeana (Clint) Pottinger of Cleveland, Kelly (Eric) Johnson of Gainesville, Andy (Casey) House of Raleigh, North Carolina;  great-grandchildren, Sarah Holland of Clarkesville, Samantha Pottinger of Cleveland, Micah, Brie and Luke Johnson of Gainesville, and Quinn House, Raleigh, North Carolina; great-great grandchildren, Bryson and Grayson Pitts of Clarkesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
