Funeral services for Junior Lee Williams, 75, of Demorest, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, July 23, at Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville with the Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Interment will follow in Hills Crossing Baptist Church Cemetery.

  Mr. Williams went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 21, 2021, following an extended illness.

    Born April 29, 1946, in Demorest, he was a son of the late Doyle and Sally Tench Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Ann Nicholson Williams; and seven siblings.

  Junior earned his masonry degree from North Georgia Technical College. He retired from Habersham Mills (Russell Corporation) as a security guard with many years of dedicated service. Junior was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a wonderful, hardworking man who never met a stranger. In his spare time, Junior enjoyed woodworking, listening to good Bluegrass music, and was a very talented musician who could play anything. He attended Baldwin Congregational Holiness Church.

Survivors include his children, Chris Kastner of Demorest, Mark and Lisa Williams of Clarkesville, Debbie and Ronnie Elliott of Cornelia, Angie and Lee Anderson of Clarkesville, Judy and Gary Haygood of Toccoa, Lonnie and Lynn Scroggs of Lavonia, and Lora Scroggs of Cornelia; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Donnie Canup of Demorest; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul E. Nicholson Jr. and Shirley Nicholson of Toccoa; grandchildren, Jeremy Thomas, Josh and Laura Anderson, Jessica and Brandon Thompson, Nathan and Kristen Williams, Taylor and Hannah Haygood, Matti Haygood, and Kash Kastner; 10 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
