  Memorial services for Kaye Scroggs Wilkes, 67, of Cornelia, will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Cornelia Community House with Pastor Mike Franklin officiating. A private inurnment will be held at Yonah Memorial Gardens for the family at a later date.

  Ms. Wilkes went home to be with the Lord Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021.

  Born May 27, 1954 and was a lifelong resident of Habersham County. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Irene Scroggs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jacob Ballew.

  Ms. Wilkes attended both The Torch in Demorest and Free Chapel in Gainesville. Kaye was a self-employed business owner for many years prior to her retirement. She loved to shop, travel, spend time with her family and friends, and being active in church.

  Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Nicole "Nikki" and Trevor Dyer of Toccoa, and Lacey and Adam Turner of Greencastle, Pennsylvania; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Connie Scroggs of Athens; three grandchildren; and many beloved friends who were considered family.

  The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at the Cornelia Community House prior to the service and refreshments will follow after the memorial service.

  A livestream of the service will be available on the Whitfield Funeral Homes & Crematory Facebook Page (facebook.com/whitfieldfh) for those who cannot attend in person.
