Funeral services for Ken L. Ritchie, 69, of Clarkesville, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Hills Crossing Baptist Church. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.

Mr. Ritchie passed away Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019.

Born April 19, 1950, in Clayton, he was the son of the late Pat and Hazel Kilby Patterson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Homer Ritchie.

Mr. Ritchie was retired from L.P. Gas Services, Inc. where he was a diesel mechanic with over 38 years of service. He last worked for Burke and Sons Trucking. Mr. Ritchie enjoyed riding motorcycles and was an avid outdoorsman; he loved spending time in the woods hunting, on a lake fishing, and cutting firewood.  He was not afraid of hard work, in fact it helped shape the man he was. Mr. Ritchie was a man of deep faith and was very involved at Hills Crossing Baptist Church where he was a member.  

Survivors include sons, Randy "Goob" Porterfield (Brenda) of the Fairview Community, Stacy Porterfield of Lakemont, Anthony Kenneth Ritchie (Michelle) of Clarkesville, Kenneth Lamar "Scooter" Ritchie II of Clarkesville, and Chanson N. Porterfield of Clarkesville; daughters, Sherri Brooks Aldridge (Peter) of Toccoa, Kelley Michelle Brooks Brock of Clayton, and Sabrina Jacqueline Ritchie Hendrix (Bobby) of Lawrenceville; brothers, Danny Ritchie (Annette) of Kansas City, Kanas, and Tom Ritchie (Linda) of the Persimmon Community; sisters, Sue York (John) of Alabama, Patsy Webb of Seneca, South Carolina, Gail Speed of Clayton and Ann Patterson of Seneca; as well as 20 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
