Funeral services for Larry Richard Banks, 69, of Clarkesville, were held Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Fairfield Baptist Church. The Rev. Ben Tanner and the Rev. Keith Allison officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. Banks took his heavenly flight home to be with the Lord Friday, Sept. 16, 2022.

Born July 1, 1953, in Clarkesville, he was the son of the late Milton Richard and Pearl Smith Banks. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Sue Dyer.

Larry was in the first graduating class of Habersham Central High School, class of 1971. He was a retired machinist with Simmons Beauty-Rest Company where he worked for 35 years. He was a member and deacon of Fairfield Baptist Church, Demorest. Larry loved going to church and spending precious time with his family and friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and tending to his cattle.

Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Elaine Davidson Banks of Clarkesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Missy and Duell Ledford of Clarkesville and Crystal and Derrick Bartlett of Senoia; grandchildren, Brooke and Robert Stephens, Grant Ledford, Nolan Bartlett, Cody Bartlett, and Sawyer Bartlett; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Jeff Stephens of Alto and Janelle and Randell Elsberry of Rockmart; brother-in-law, Jerry Dyer of Joliet, Montana; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
