Mrs. Whitaker passed away Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, from complications from ovarian cancer.

Born Dec. 11, 1964, in Stephens County, she was the daughter of Joan Barron Kinsey and the late Lamon Jim Henry Kinsey. In addition to her father, Mrs. Whitaker was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Wavery and Lexie Kastner Barron; and paternal grandparents, Hubert and Cora Lee Fortenberry Kinsey.

Lisa was a graduate of White County High School and North Georgia College, and attended Georgia Tech, where she met her husband, Rob Whitaker. After a brief career in analytical testing, she devoted her life to her family as a stay-at-home mom and was very involved in volunteer work with her daughters' schools. She was a great hostess to many, with her daughters' friends spending many Friday evenings at her house.

Lisa was a longtime attendant of Macedonia United Methodist Church, where she also served on various committees and was very involved with fellowship events. In her spare time, she loved reading, puzzle books, and most of all, spending time with her beloved family and friends.

Survivors include her loving husband of 32 years, Robert Hudson Whitaker; daughter, Jennifer Joan Kinsey-Whitaker; daughter and boyfriend, Kathryn Jimmie Whitaker and Kyle Nicholas Wright; and mother, Joan Barron Kinsey. Also surviving are several in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family and friends.
