M.A. was a lover of life, music, and the beach. He could be found on most vacations somewhere in the sun and scuba diving. He had an intense interest in history, the military, and trains. Ever curious, he was always learning about something new.

He is survived by his father, Moragne (Ranny) Whitney Jr. of Sautee-Nacoochee; his sister, DuGué Whitney Zion of Camden, South Carolina; and his brother, Geer Arthur Whitney of Selma, Alabama.
