Memorial mass for Philip Henry D'Entremont, 96, was held Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Saint Mark Catholic Church in Clarkesville. Interment followed the service in VFW post 7720 Memorial Park.

It is with great sadness and much joy that the family of Mr. D'Entremont announces that he passed into eternal life on Wednesday, Sept.15, 2021, his wife and children gathered lovingly around him.

Beloved son of Anna C. and Henry William D'Entremont, he came into this world July 1, 1925, in Lynn, Massechusetts.

The family of three later settled in northern New Jersey where he graduated high school and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree from Stephens Institute of Technology after having served in the Southern Philippines in WWII. He was proud of his service. As his parents had, he met his beloved Pat in a church choir, they married in 1956.  They raised their six children, eventually settling in the hills of Northeast Georgia. As an engineer, he kept Scovill running for many years. Enthusiasm for Broadway musicals turned into a passion for the Shakespeare Tavern in Atlanta; they hosted many outings of friends and family.

In his later years, Philip always asked us to remember he's had a great life. His generous spirit, sharp mind, positive outlook and loving devotion to his family are remembered with love and gratitude by us all. His love lives on in our hearts.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Casey D'Entremont of Clarkesville; sons, Jim D'Entremont (Maggie) of Asheville, and Bill D'Entremont (Inez) of Gainesville; daughters, Mary D'Entremont of Mount Airy, Ann Sutton (Randy) of the Batesville community, Joan D'Entremont (Al Schlimm) of Weaverville, North Carolina, and Miriam "Mimi" Clark (Cary) of Mount Airy; grandchildren, Andrew Philip D'Entremont, John Santangelo (Rachel), Daniel Santangelo (Traci), Jennifer Bardóczy (Adam), Sam D'Entremont (Mary Austin), Jenna Hinkle (Brent), Jeremy Sutton (Kristin), Joe Sutton (Jessy), Annelise Kopp, Daniel Kopp, Sarah Clark, Annebelle Clark, Ashley Sanchez, Amber Clark and Jason Townsend; as well as 18 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
