Funeral services for Ruby Jean Myers Osborne, 86, of Demorest, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Dr. Brian James officiating. Entombment will follow Yonah Memorial Gardens.

    Mrs. Osborne passed away Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021.

    Born Sept. 20, 1934, in Cleveland, she was the daughter of the late Abner Byrd Myers and Margie Nell Garner Myers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Bud Osborne; a daughter, Carol Osborne; brothers, Delbert Myers and Wayne Myers; and sister, Barbara Myers.

Jean was a graduate of White County High School and retired from Ethicon in Cornelia. Jean was introduced to the love of her life Bud Osborne by Francine White Westbrook and they married in 1952. Jean and Bud shared a love for each other, their children and grandchildren. Jean was a soft spoken, but always a gracious southern lady enjoyed making her red velvet cakes for friends and family. Jean and Bud loved the Northeast Georgia Mountains and enjoyed spending their time together in their home. Jean had a love for reading and studying her Bible, reading her cookbooks and reading her favorite books by author James Patterson.

  Surviving are her children, Terrell Osborne of Momence, Illinois, Karen Franklin of Gainesville, and Jeff and Francys Osborne of Edgewood, Kentucky; grandchildren, Caleb, Kelly, Matthew, Stephen, Yislain, and Angel; five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

  The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 1 p.m. until the service hour Thursday at the funeral home.
