Funeral services for Ruthelene Dixon McEntire, 88, of Clarkesville, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, at Hillside Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Keith Allison and the Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairfield Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. McEntire went home to be with the Lord Sunday, July 19, 2020, following an extended illness.
Born May 14, 1932, in Clarkesville, she was a daughter of the late Willard Carl and Thelma Harrison Dixon. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Jay McEntire; her sister, Latrelle Dixon English; and her brother, Willard Howard Dixon.
Ruthelene married Walter on April 28, 1950, and they shared many wonderful years together until his passing in October of 1993. She retired from Habersham Mills - Russell Corporation with many years of dedicated service. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Fairfield Baptist Church for many years. In her spare time, Ruthelene enjoyed sewing and word search puzzles.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the service hour Wednesday.
