  The family of Sandra G. Elrod, 78, of Powder Springs, received friends at the funeral home Sunday, Nov. 21. A memorial service will be held at a later date, please contact her son, David for more information.

  Mrs. Elrod passed away Nov. 16, 2021, in Marietta.

  Born July 10, 1943, in Gainesville, and was the daughter of the late Max Jefferson Green and Claudine Ritchie Lenderman Green. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband of almost 60 years, Charles L. Elrod.

  She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Elrod Mattox (Steve, daughter Stephanie Mattox-Ford); son, David Charles Elrod (Jessika, daughter Marley); granddaughter, Taylor Mattox Elrod (Michael, son Owen) and their son, Charlie; older brother, Randall Green (Faye); and younger sister, Nancy Chandler.

  A graduate of South Habersham High School in 1961, she went on to North Georgia College. Sandra owned and operated Tour & Travel for many years, catering to seniors with fun filled trips all across America. She retired Tour & Travel to spend time with her late husband after he retired in June 2014.

  She was a faithful member of Post Oak Baptist Church in Powder Springs and loved her fellow members dearly. She was an accomplished pianist, playing for her church family on many occasions. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

  In recent years, she was fond of watching her favorite TV shows, playing online games and puzzles, spending time with her cat, Teddy, and spending quality time with her family and cherished newly born great-grandson, Charlie.
