Funeral services for Vickie Bernice Savage Ansley, 61 of Mt. Airy, were held Thursday, July 29, at B.C. Grant Baptist Church with the Rev. Daniel Parker officiating.

    Mrs. Ansley took her heavenly flight home to be with the Lord Monday, July 26, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

  Born Dec. 15, 1959, in Stephens County, she was a daughter of the late Jerry Savage and Bernice Broome Savage Dailey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Otis and Lulah Jones Savage, and Michael and Zadie Smith Broome.

Vickie was a Registered Nurse with Stephens County Hospital with over 38 years of dedicated service. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, especially trips to the ocean. Vickie also enjoyed reading. Most of all, she loved spending precious time with her family and friends. Vickie was a member of Glade Creek Baptist Church and attended B.C. Grant Baptist Church.

Survivors include her loving husband of 30 years, Stanley M. Ansley of Mt. Airy; daughters and sons-in-law, Christy and Chris Peck of Baldwin, and Megan and Trent Ivester of Toccoa; grandchildren, Nora Peck of Baldwin, and Fayeth, Belle, and Cora Ivester of Toccoa; sister, Cindy Savage Sapp; brother and husband, John Savage and Kenny Williams, all of Mt. Airy; aunt and uncle, Jennifer Savage Taylor and Jackie Taylor of Baldwin; aunt, Bessie Brown; uncle, Jack Broome; uncle and aunt, J.B. and Cindi Jo Savage, all of Mt. Airy; niece and husband, Nicole and Chris Souther of Mt. Airy; great-niece and great-nephew, Emma and Gavin Souther of Mt. Airy; and several other relatives and friends.
