Mrs. Perry went home to be with the Lord Monday, March 22, 2021.

Born April 17, 1934, in Towns County, she was the daughter of the late John Ferry and Lillie Esther Tatham Moore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Travis Wilson Perry; brother and sister-in-law, Lynn Tatham Moore and Sue P. Moore; sister and brother-in-law, Frances M. and Gerald Tanner; and grandson, Matthew Anderson.

Barbara loved her family and lived a life full of ministry. Crafts, hobbies, genealogy, sewing, cooking, and playing Scrabble were some of her favorite activities, along with family trips and traveling over the mountain. She was faithful and active in many church positions and ministries including VBS, WMU, preparing and serving meals for events, and the local soup kitchen. Barbara was the ultimate caregiver for her parents and for relatives and friends in times of need. She taught us all how to put others before self, and how to be joyful in serving others. Barbara taught by example, daily demonstrating the fruit of the Spirit and leaving an imprint on all the lives she touched. She was a faithful member of Glade Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia Perry Anderson and Steve Anderson of Mt. Airy; son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Wanda Perry of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Marshall and Mandy Anderson, Melissa and Tim Pace, Brittany and Paul Wood, Jackie and Adam Cash, Andrew Perry and Beth Stocklinski; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Jamie, Zach, Zeke, Breckyn, Jonah, Raelyn, Nick, Jerry, Jeffrey, Caitlyn, Hailey, and Brayden; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
