Graveside services for Mary Frances Jordan Franklin, 92, of Mount Airy, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Victory Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Shane Jenkins and the Rev. Connie Berry officiating.

Mrs. Franklin went home to be with the Lord Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022.

Born Dec. 24, 1929, in Clarkesville, she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Josephine Taylor Jordan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Andrew Franklin Jr.; son-in-law, Benny Morrison; two brothers; and three sisters.

Frances was a graduate of Clarkesville High School, class of 1947. She worked for Clarkesville Mill as a cloth inspector where she retired with over 40 years of dedicated service. In her spare time, Frances enjoyed yard work, flower gardening, and bird watching. She also enjoyed precious time with family and friends. Frances was a member of Victory Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Sherry Franklin and James "Jim" and Sharon Franklin, all of Mt. Airy; daughter, Shelia Franklin Morrison of Clarkesville; grandchildren, Shane Franklin, Jessica Morrison, Steve and Dannielle Franklin, Isaac and Cara Morrison, and Eric and Kristen Franklin; great-grandchildren, Mikayla Franklin, Carter Franklin, and Marlee Morrison; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to their wonderful caregiver, Shirley Taylor, as well as Ava, Autumn, April, Becky, and the staff of Amedisys Hospice.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Habersham County Animal Shelter.
