  Funeral services for Lincoln Malcom Burgess, 5, of Alto, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with the Rev. Johnny Johnson and the Rev. Scott Ledbetter officiating. Interment will follow in the Wade Family Cemetery in Alto.

  Lincoln passed away Friday, Oct. 29, 2021.

  Born Oct. 19, 2016, in Athens, he was a son of Jeffery and Jessica Wade Burgess of Alto. Lincoln was preceded in death by his aunts, Autumn Wade and Cynthenia Wade.

  Lincoln never met a stranger and enjoyed making people happy. He loved spending time with his family and being outdoors.

  In addition to his parents, survivors include his brother, Hudson Burgess of Alto; grandparents, Amanda and Kevin Wade of Alto; great-grandparents, Lynn and William Burgess of Martin, Brenda Wade, and Susan and Frank Jaworski, all of Alto; uncles and aunts, Kirby and Ashley Wade of Alto, Kegan Burgess of Martin, and Alyssa Thomas of Gainesville; cousins, Destiny Wade, Hunter Wade, Brantley Wade and Easton Thacker.

  The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 pm and 6 until 8 pm Sunday, Nov. 7, at the funeral home.

  Those in attendance are asked to please adhere to the public health and social distancing guidelines regarding COVID-19.
