Funeral services for Mac Turner, 78, of Baldwin, were held Monday, Oct. 12, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel with the Rev. Greg Burrell and the Rev. Terry Benfield officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Grove C.H. Church Cemetery with Pastor Scott Ledbetter officiating

  Mr. Turner went home to be with the Lord Friday, Oct. 9, 2020. 

  Born July 13, 1942, in White County, he was the son of the late Rev. J.W. Turner and Minnie Hooper Turner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Minnie Crenshaw Turner; brothers, Robert Turner, Joe Turner, WIlliam Turner, and Marvin Turner; sisters, Leverne Barrett, Grace Mullin, Gatha Leverett, Marcelene Norton and Gertrude Goforth. 

Mr. Turner was a member of the Cornelia C.H. Church where he formerly served as the Sunday School Superintendent for 25 years. Mac also was a retired barber, serving for 20 years and a used car dealer for 59 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather; he was known to his grandchildren as "Papa Mac." Mac was an avid NASCAR fan and a collector of classic cars. 

Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Jean Moody Turner of Baldwin; daughters and sons-in-law, LaDon and Ricky Shaw of Baldwin, Laura Lee and Greg Burrell of Cornelia, and Tosha and Trey Spight of Bethlehem; stepsons and daughters-in-law, Cliff and Trudy Myers of Clarkesville, and Jeff and Stacey Myers of Cornelia; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Tanoa Turner of Alto; brother, Tearle Turner of Baldwin; grandchildren, Megan, Morgan, Zack, Kristen, Ashlyn, Austin, Drew; and great-grandchildren, Kash, Sawyer, Beau, Phoenix.   

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the PKD Foundation, PO Box 871847, Kansas City, MO 64187. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Whitfield Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, Baldwin.
