Funeral services for Mary Ruth Gosnell "Nana" Baker, 71, of Commerce, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Welborn officiating. 

  Ms. Baker passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021.

  Born Sept. 9, 1949, in Mt. Airy, she was the daughter of the late Joe Ab and Dora Tullis Gosnell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rhonda Ruth Baker.

  Ms. Baker worked at Mount Vernon Mills for 43 years and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Kirsten Beasley of Commerce, and Mitchell Moore of Homer; great-granddaughter, Vanessa Williams of Commerce; brothers, Bobby Joe Gosnell (Sandra), and Fred A. Gosnell (Ethel), both of Homer; sisters, Bell Ledford of Demorest, and Lizzie Gosnell of Cornelia; special niece, Wilma Rider; special friend and caregiver, Victor Pena; and several nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5.

Those in attendance are asked to adhere to public health and social distancing guidelines regarding COVID-19.
