A graveside service for Melba L. Barr, 87, of Carnesville, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at Harvest Christian Church with the Rev. Keith Allison officiating.
Mrs. Barr passed away Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020.
Born Nov. 7, 1933, in Habersham County, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Belle Hightower Black. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest C. Harper; second husband, James Barr; brother, Lowell Black; and sister, Lavonda Wright.
Mrs. Barr attended Fairfield Baptist Church. She enjoyed square dancing, gardening, canning, sewing, and crafts.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael E. and Debbie Harper of Redan, Stephen E. and Marie Harper of Carnesville, David Allen and Jo Harper of Dacula, and Andy Scott and Susan Harper of Conyers; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Duane Black of Clarkesville.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, at the funeral home.
