Baldwin Fire Department has its Christmas lights up, and that is just the beginning in Habersham County. The holiday events begin in earnest Thursday with tree lightings in Alto (6 p.m.) and Demorest (6:30 p.m.), followed by three yuletide events Friday in Clarkesville, Baldwin and Tallulah Falls.
City Christmas events in Habersham
Through Dec. 31 – Christmas Lights Spectacular – 6-11 p.m. each night through New Year’s Eve at Cornelia City Park. Free drive-thru event.
Dec. 1 – Alto tree lighting, city hall, 6 p.m.
Dec. 1 – Demorest tree lighting and Christmas Celebration, 6:30 p.m.
Dec. 2 – A Downtown Clarkesville Christmas, 5:30-8 p.m.
Dec. 2 – Baldwin tree lighting and pictures with Santa, 6:30 p.m.
Dec. 2 – Christmas potluck and tree lighting in Tallulah Falls
Dec. 6 – Baldwin Christmas Bazaar 4:30-8:30 p.m.
Dec. 6 – Habersham County Christmas Parade, Willingham Avenue from Fieldale Farms to Airport Road in Baldwin, 6:30 p.m.
Dec. 8 – Christmas in Mt. Airy, 6:30 p.m.
Dec. 10 – Downtown Christmas in Cornelia, 4-9 p.m.
Dec. 19 – Christmas Candlelight Walk in Clarkesville, 6-8 p.m.
Christmas concert
The public is invited to Clarkesville Church of God’s Christmas Concert featuring “Johnson Edition” at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4. All are invited to this evening of traditional and new Christmas Songs.
