Clarkesville Sip & Stroll: The next Sip & Stroll is Friday, Sept. 2, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in the Downtown Clarkesville entertainment district. This recurring event will take place on the first Friday of every month through October. Participating businesses will have extended business hours/drink specials, and there will be live entertainment.
Veterans jamboree: The VFW Grant-Reeves Post 7720 will host its annual Northeast Georgia Jamboree from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3 at 174 Cornelia Crossing in Cornelia. There will be plenty of fun for kids including bouncy houses and a magic show at 1 p.m.
Bible study starting Tuesday nights: There will be a Tuesday night Bible Study starting up on Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. at River Point Community Church. The group has chosen to study the book of John this Fall. All denominations are welcome. Bring your Bible. For details, call 706-499-2023.
Blood drive: Farm Bureau Insurance will host a blood drive from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday Sept. 7, at 3395 Camp Creek Road in Mt. Airy. Appointments can be made online but walk-ins are welcome.
Alpha course: Alpha is a series of group conversations at St. Thomas Anglican Church that explore the basics of the Christian faith in a friendly environment. It’s a place to connect with people, where you can say anything you like or nothing at all. Everyone’s welcome. Karaoke Night fundraiser: Habersham Christian Learning Center is hosting a Karaoke NIght Fundraiser Saturday, Sept. 10, at The Station at Level Grove Baptist Church. Painted Fern Art Festival in Rabun: The Annual Painted Fern Art Festival that is presented by the North Georgia Arts Guild will be Saturday, Sept. 17, and Sunday, Sept. 18, at the Rabun County Civic Center, 201 W. Savannah St, Clayton, Ga. Forty-plus artists and artisans are scheduled to exhibit a wide variety of art and fine crafts: Painting, photography, pottery, glass, wood, metal and more.
Spivey-Nicholson reunion canceled: The Spivey-Nicholson reunion will not be held this year. Anglican study sessions: Join St. Thomas Anglican Church every Sunday as they celebrate the Holy Eucharist according to the 1928 Book of Common Prayer.
