Clarkesville Library events: The Clarkesville Library has several events coming up in July. Each month the adult book club meets on the second Monday at 10:30 a.m. There will be seminar on “How to Build a Rain Garden” with Becca Risser at 11 a.m. Friday, July 8. There will be Yoga for senior adults at 10 a.m. Friday, July 15, and there will be a children’s program with Lee Bryan “That Puppet Guy” at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 16.
Singing at Old Nacoochee: Old Nacoochee Baptist Church will host a singing by “Going Higher” at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 10. The church is at 487 Hub Tatum Road in Sautee. All are welcome.
Vacation Bible School: Vacation Bible School will be held at Clarkesville Baptist Church from July 10-14 from 5:45-8:30 pm for ages 3-preschool through 6th grade. Men’s Bible Study: The men’s Bible Study at Clarkesville Baptist Church will continue on July 12 and July 26 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Family Life Center. These sessions will be a continuation of the book “The Mulligan: A Parable of Second Chances.”
Quilting workshop set: The Mountain Laurel Quilters’ Guild will host a Foundation Paper Piecing Workshop on Friday, July 22, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Grant Reeves VFW Post in Cornelia. No prior quilting experience is necessary for this class but you will need to bring a sewing machine and a few other supplies. Veterans & Patriots meeting set for July: The Northeast Georgia Brotherhood of Veterans & Patriots will meet on Saturday July 16. Breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. and the program will begin at 9 a.m. Jim Morgan, the speaker, served in the army in counterintelligence. Donald Crowe is providing the meal in memory of his dad, PFC Roy E. Crowe a WWII army veteran who served in a tank battalion in the European theater and in honor of his brother, Danny Crowe who served in the navy in Vietnam. We will meet in the fellowship hall of Cornelia First Baptist Church.
South Habersham planning reunion: A committee is looking for members of South Habersham High School’s Class of 1966. They are planning a fall reunion, and we need you to be there. Please contact a member of the reunion committee as soon as possible so they can make fun filled plans.

Clarkesville Sip & Stroll: The next Sip & Stroll is Friday, Aug. 5, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in the Downtown Clarkesville entertainment district. This recurring event will take place on the first Friday of every month through October. Participating businesses will have extended business hours/drink specials, there will be live entertainment.
