Emma Holland, a recent honor graduate of Habersham Central High School, has been selected to receive a $1,500 Georgia Foundation for Agriculture (GFA) Technical College Scholarship.
The GFA scholarships recognize deserving and outstanding students who plan to pursue a degree in agriculture or an ag-related degree at a technical college in the University System of Georgia, Berry College or Emmanuel College.
“The Georgia Foundation for Agriculture is committed to supporting Georgia’s next generation of agricultural leaders. Our scholarship recipients are passionate students pursuing various careers in agriculture including: ag education, ag business, ag communications, ag engineering, ag & environmental science, horticulture, poultry science, animal science, regenerative bioscience, avian biology, and applied ag economics,” said GFA Board Chairman and Georgia Farm Bureau President Tom McCall. “Georgia Farm Bureau is proud to support the foundation’s efforts. We look forward to following these deserving students and their agricultural careers.”
Holland, the daughter of Stacey Holland and Brittany Loudermilk, plans to attend North Georgia Technical College to finish her core classes and then transfer to the UGA College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences to pursue a degree in animal science. She would like to become an agriculture educator.
Holland has been an active FFA member since middle school through which she showed cattle, and competed in livestock, nursery landscape, floriculture and meats evaluation competitions. She received her State FFA Degree in 2021. She is a member of the Hollywood Baptist youth group.
