A man undergoing a routine probation check ended up arrested on multiple drug charges Friday.
Habersham County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators responded to an Alto home in reference to a request for assistance by the probation office.
“They asked for assistance because they smelled what they believed was marijuana,” Col. Murray Kogod said Tuesday. “They began a search at that point.”
During the search, narcotics investigators located approximately four ounces of methamphetamine, digital scales, and plastic baggies.
Additionally, investigators located approximately 10 ounces of marijuana.
Johnathan Maxwell Venziano, 34, of Alto was placed under arrest and transported to the Habersham County Jail.
Venziano was charged with one count of trafficking methamphetamine, one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
